LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, with the 17th pick, drafted Jalen Hood-Schifino.
Hood-Schifino said the day had been a roller coaster.
“My mom and my sister are my why. They are my biggest supporters, my biggest critics. For me to be drafted, I am definitely happy, and I think they might be more happy than me,” he told Spectrum’s SportsNet.
Hood-Schifino, who wears a chain across his neck with the acronym “FINO,” said it stands for “Failure Is No Option.”
