NDIAN WELLS, Calif. (CNS) — The BNP Paribas Open will be held in October, six months later than usual, tournament director Tommy Haas announced.
The dates of the tournament at Indian Wells Tennis Garden will be announced after the confirmation of the fall calendar by the Association of Tennis Professionals and Women's Tennis Association tours, Haas said.
The tournament will enforce all protocols established by the ATP and WTA tours, as well as Indian Wells and Riverside County Public Health Department, to ensure the safety of players, fans and officials, Haas said.
The postponement of the tournament from March 8-21 was announced in December. The 2020 tournament was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
