One thing the pandemic has taught us is to appreciate art, and no better time to be enlightened by a little known art installation that has come back to life.
If you’ve lived in Los Angeles long enough, you’ve taken a picture at LACMA’s Urban Light. Many don’t know, however, that there is another installation of vintage street lamps that predates this by over 15 years.
The idea and the story begins with artist Sheila Klein.
The SoCal Scene's Tara Lynn Wagner reports on the installation, known as, “Vermonica”, including how it was originally envisioned in the early 1990s, and why it mysteriously disappeared several years ago.
