The name Rudi Gernreich isn't as popular today as some of the other designers of the 1960's, but his mark on a variety of styles he created earned him a worldwide reputation.
To celebrate his iconic Los Angeles work, the Skirball Cultural Center is presenting "Fearless Fashion: Rudi Gernreich," an exhibition that explores his creations that helped change social norms.
The SoCal Scene correspondent Alison Martino takes a look back at the life and career of Gernreich and how his designs influenced a generation of fashion.
