Jaqueline Hurtado is an Emmy-winning, bilingual multimedia journalist who has covered international, domestic, and local news.
Raised in Orange County, California, she's been a journalist for two decades, getting her start as a news assistant at the CBS Network magazines, 60 Minutes, and 48 Hours, based in New York City. She graduated from California State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis on Broadcast Journalism.
Prior to Spectrum News, she spent 15 years with CNN covering some of the biggest stories in the world that took her to multiple countries, where she covered severe flooding in Thailand, a high-rise fire in Dubai, and Pope Francis in Vatican City.
As a Los Angeles-based correspondent, Jaqueline stood on the front lines of major wildfires, floods, hurricanes, border battles on the U.S.-Mexico border and the COVID-19 pandemic.
She says her best assignment has been motherhood; her twins offer a unique perspective of life every single day.
Jaqueline has been the recipient of multiple journalism awards including an Emmy Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and being selected as Most Influential Latina Journalist by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
