LOS ANGELES — In the hours before the World Series champions made their way to downtown Los Angeles to celebrate, several agencies joined forces to prepare for the Dodger parade.

The festivities are set to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at Gloria Molina Grand Park. Deputy Miguel Meza with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said there's a buzz of excitement in the air, but adds safety is their first priority and deputies are ensuring they have adequate resources to ensure a positive outcome.

Law enforcement is on heightened alert as the LA County Sheriff's Department coordinates with LAPD to significantly increase officer visibility along the parade route and near Dodgers Stadium.

The city is encouraging anyone planning to attend the parade to use public transportation due to road closures and limited parking. Metro routes will be posted here Friday morning.
