LOS FELIZ, Calif. — Data from the CHP and Caltrans, analyzed by The Ryan Law Group, shows that pedestrian-involved crashes increased by 20% over the Halloween holiday, including the night before and after Halloween.
They say 15% of those crashes are deadly. Some parents choose to attend Halloween block parties or trunk-or-treat events instead of the traditional trick-or-treating to avoid danger.
Experts are also offering tips on how to keep kids safe, including wearing bright costumes, using lights or glow sticks while walking around, or adding reflective tape to darker outfits.
