BURBANK, Calif. — The city of Burbank is just over 17 square miles and has roughly 100,000 residents. It’s also home to 14 gun stores, including Gun World’s brand new location on Magnolia Boulevard.

With over 300 mass shootings in the United States so far this year, many residents are concerned about the concentration of firearm retailers within the city limits, as well as their proximity to local schools.

In the first part of our series, “Burbank: Under the Gun,” we hear from residents and gun owners about an issue that has divided the city.
