LOS ANGELES — On the campaign trail, President Donald Trump promised to reconfigure the U.S. immigration system to bring down the number of people entering the country, both legally and illegally.

One of the latest policy changes by President Trump’s administration focused on removing the Temporary Protected Status for new migrants hoping to flee the war in Ukraine. 

In Southern California, two mothers from Ukraine are facing uncertainty as they wait to see if the federal government will provide them with the opportunity to stay in the country.
