SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — With the Trump administration set to takeover the White House in January, a group of undocumented students from Cal State San Bernardino are fighting for local officials to declare San Bernardino a sanctuary city.

Although some students have some protection through DACA, the ones who don’t are facing an anxious 2025 with President-elect Donald Trump’s plans for mass deportation.

The group of students from CSUSB are hoping to speak with San Bernardino city officials to voice their concerns about declaring it a sanctuary city, where federal laws will be ignored to protect those who are undocumented immigrants.

More than 378,000 people in San Bernardino County cast a ballot for Trump during the November election, and one student, in particular, is feeling anxious about who he can, and can’t trust in the community.
