Measure G, a proposal to add four more members to the LA County Board of Supervisors, elect a chief executive, and create an independent ethics commission, has been approved by voters.
Those who were against the measure were concerned about its impact and implementation. Raphe Sonenshien, executive director of the Haynes Foundation, which funds research on governance in LA, said the passing of Measure G is historic.
“Implementation is going to be the heart of this, which is how do you take a fairly remarkable decision to create a new form of government really in the county that’s going to attract tremendous attention and make it work really well for the people. That is really the task we’ve got going forward,” he said.
