A color-coded vest system, security cameras and a buddy system are just some of the many steps taken to ensure election security and integrity at the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters.

Communications Officer Melissa Eickman showed the process ballots go through to ensure a safe and secure voting process.

“We are electing our leaders. So, it’s important that every citizen gets a chance to vote, and only vote once, and it is that citizen’s vote in the way they want it to be,” she said.

Eickman also said the staff and election day volunteers are the “frontline making sure democracy works.”
