LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles City Council member Curren Price is the latest high-ranking politician in Los Angeles to be accused of corruption.

Price, who has been charged with theft by embezzlement, perjury and conflict of interest for allegedly voting on projects involving developers tied to his wife's consulting firm, has since stepped down as president pro tempore. He represented the Council's 9th District, which includes a large part of South LA.

For the time being, Councilman Bob Blumenfield has been appointed by the Council's president as the assistant pro tem.
