Newsom recently met with Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson, along with formerly unhoused people who used to camp at MacArthur Park and are now in temporary housing. The city received $1.3 million from the state to help relocate people experiencing homelessness.
The governor celebrated Pride Nite at Disneyland on Tuesday to show solidarity with California's LGBTQ+ community.
"I'm sickened by the assault on the community," he told Spectrum News.
During the interview, Newsom explained why he doesn’t support banning encampments near schools at a statewide level. He also touched on the latest regarding the migrants who Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently sent to California.
