The Los Angeles City Council voted 13-1 on Thursday to approve Mayor Karen Bass’ budget, with some council members applauding it as the most progressive budget the city has seen.
The $13 billion budget includes about a billion dollars to address homelessness and calls for the city to rebuild the LA Police Department.
Newly elected council member Eunisses Hernandez was the only council member to vote “no.”
Hernandez joined “Your Morning” to discuss her vote.
