EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — A string of mass shootings across the United States has renewed calls for more restrictive gun legislation.
Retired judge and author of “Her Honor: My Life on the Bench, What Works, What’s Broken and How to Change It,” Judge LaDoris Hazzard Cordell joined “Your Morning” to discuss gun reform and legislative changes she deems necessary following the mass shooting that killed 19 children and two adults in Uvalde, Texas.
Cordell looked back to when the Second Amendment was written and how different guns looked during this time.
Cordell said that the Second Amendment was not written with assault rifles in mind.
When it comes to California’s ban on assault rifles being overturned, Cordell expects that decision to be challenged and even potentially overturned.
