More than 20 candidates are running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.
One of the most important voting blocs is African Americans.
The black vote can make or break a Democratic contender. Recently the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs at Cal State LA did a comprehensive survey of 2,300 black voters in L.A. County.
It found a majority believe homelessness is the most important issue facing the community. Executive Director Raphe Sonenshein stopped by The Afternoon Beat to talk to Kelvin Washington about the results and how important the black vote will be in California’s Democratic primary next year.
