To support federal agencies as migrants and drugs continue to stream into the United States, Operation Stonegarden employs local law enforcement.
The Homeland Security grant program allocates $90 million to state, local, and tribal law enforcement to “support joint efforts to secure the United States’ borders,” according to the federal government.
Maverick County in southwest Texas is one of those jurisdictions to receive grant monies to assist U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
