LA JOLLA, Calif. – There is not much debate that swimming is widely considered a four-year sport.

Swimming is often popular during the Summer Olympic Games, but not really talked about during the off seasons.

The International Swim League was created in 2019 to help bring the sport to the mainstream by creating a fast-paced, team-oriented brand of swim meets. This year, the league kicked off an international competition.

The competition features four Europe based and four U.S. based teams, one of which is from Los Angeles.

Spectrum News 1 spoke with two of the swimmers on the L.A. Current, Kendyl Stewart and Michael Chadwick, who expressed their excitement over representing Southern California in the ISL's inaugural season.
