BIG BEAR, Calif. – On its 100-year anniversary an organization for people with disabilities gave them the chance to enjoy a week of fun at summer camp.
Easterseals is one the nation's largest providers of services for people with disabilities. The organization is a resource for 1.5 million individuals with disabilities or other special needs and their families.
In Southern California, Easterseals hosts a very special camp during the year from August 4 through 10.
The week-long, fully accessible summer camp gives anyone between the ages of 16-70 the opportunity to splash, soak up the sun, and zip through opportunities they have never experienced.
With one counselor to every two campers, Camp Easterseals exists because of the compassion of the volunteers.
For over the past 45 years Camp Easterseals has turned a lifetime of no’s, into a week full of yes’s.
