1. Gov. Hochul says plans underway to address MTA funding amid Trump victory

Gov. Kathy Hochul still says to wait until the end of the year for news on funding the MTA with congestion pricing, although President-elect Donald Trump has said in social media posts and in speeches he’d terminate the tolling plan. According to the governor, she’s aware that time is ticking and is planning possible post-election scenarios.

“We know our timeframe better than anybody. We’re watching this, we’re continuing this,” Hochul said.

2. Hochul, AG James pledge to protect New Yorkers’ rights after Trump win

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday said she would work with President-elect Donald Trump to advance critical projects, but also pledged to “fight” any attempts to curb New Yorkers’ rights.

Speaking in Manhattan alongside New York state Attorney General Letitia James, the governor called on the incoming president to restore the federal deduction for state and local tax payments and back a number of state improvement efforts.

3. Where Trump made inroads in NYC

Preliminary election results show the now president-elect has made inroads in deep, deep blue New York City.

Those results also show Kamala Harris won the city, with about 68% of the vote compared to Donald Trump’s 30%. But compare that to 2020, and Harris did not perform as well as Biden, who carried New York City with 76% of the vote.
