During the COVID-19 pandemic, Inglewood High School's marching band nearly ceased to exist, dropping from 100 members to just 10.

But then something surprising happened: A new band director turned things around, creating new interest and excitement for the kind of high energy performances that Inglewood had been known for.

And this year, it all paid off. All 12 of the graduating seniors have earned college scholarships. "LA Times Today" got a look at what makes the band so special.

And more good things are in store for Inglewood’s marching band. Next year, they'll travel to Washington to perform at the national Independence Day parade.
