Dr. Emmett Brown zoomed into our hearts in "Back to the Future," but for the last 20 years, our children's future has been at the heart of actor Christopher Lloyd's work on the PBS Kids series "Cyberchase."
In an interview for "LA Times Today," Christopher Lloyd joined host Lisa McRee to talk about the "Cyberchase" season finale and all of his new projects.
"Cyberchase" is an animated show that airs on PBS Kids and teaches children how to solve problems using mathematics. It has been on the air for 20 years and counting.
Lloyd spoke about his experience playing the villain, Hacker, on the show.
"I was very hesitant when I was first called up to do it because I haven’t really done voice work. I thought, that's not really acting or is it really? How do I fit that into my career? It just worked out," he said. "Usually, it's alone in a booth sort of thing. I just go follow my instincts and if they don't like it, they tell me about it. I'll just do whatever until we get it all on track. And then you just keep doing it."
Lloyd has been hard at work in recent years. This month, Lloyd is reprising his guest role as Lou from "Roseanne" on the spin-off of the ABC comedy, "The Conners." He also stars in a new film called "Tankhouse" that hits theatres on May 13. He talked about the quirky, comedic film.
"It's about young actors. It's also a little bit like a parody. They decide they're going to go to another place outside the city and create an acting company doing plays and such. I certainly identify with them," Lloyd said.
As the world returns to normal, Lloyd said he intends to keep working, as long as good material comes his way.
"Just a good script. I don't care if it's comedy or tragedy, whatever. You know, I want something that I read and feel [like] I connect with that guy," he said.
"Tankhouse" is out in theaters and VOD on May 13.
