John Jackson Jr. was a star athlete at the University of Southern California in the late '80s, and he dreamed that his son would follow in his footsteps.

John Jackson III worked on it with his father and became a wide receiver his freshman year at USC.

He sat down with Los Angeles Times USC beat reporter J. Brady McCollough to talk about the path that brought him there, and the journey after John Jr. had a major stroke.
