From a young age, Tyler Henry exhibited psychic abilities, saying he had his first encounter with a spirit when he was just ten years old.

His mother quickly realized he had a gift — but he says not everyone in his hometown in Northern California saw it that way.

As he grew up, Henry’s ability to communicate with those who have passed made him an outcast — so much so that he decided to become homeschooled and graduate early.

But as word of his gift grew, Henry learned quickly he could provide comfort and hope to those who need it most.

“I can’t cure grief, I can only try to just explain what I do,” he said, “I think leaving people better than I found them has been the goal and that for me is really what I choose to focus on.”

On a special edition of “LA Stories: Revisited,” Henry explains how he gained widespread recognition as the star of the hit reality television series “Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry,” which premiered in 2016.

He became known for his accurate messages and readings of celebrity clients. Henry even famously warned actor Alan Thicke to get his heart checked three months before he died.

Henry shares his gift not only with celebrities but audience members on his live tours and with clients in personal readings.

His genuine demeanor and the emotional responses from his clients captivated thousands, and despite the cynics, Henry said he is proud of the work he can do.

“I started seeing the impact and that was empowering, seeing the ripple effect that this had on other people,” he said. “And it made me more confident in doing it…And I just hope I can bring that awareness to more people with time.” 

Today, Henry has two shows on Netflix: “Life After Death with Tyler Henry” and his latest, “Live from the Other Side with Tyler Henry,” where he gives celebrity guest readings — live on Netflix.

Each week, a different celebrity, along with friends and family, receives a live reading from Henry and the results have been astonishing.

For Henry, being able to show his work live and unedited allows him to show people his process and hopefully offer some insight into how his gift works.

“I’m excited to continue sharing readings in any way that I can. All of these opportunities that have found their way into my life were really never truly anticipated by me.” he said, “I’m stunned and thankful every single time that I get an opportunity to extend what I do and share. That’s really what it’s all about.”
