State Senator Anthony Portantino believes his most important accomplishment so far for California's 25th district has been the creation of an umbilical cord blood collection program.

When asked about what he still wants to accomplish in office, Portantino said he wants to expand access to mental health services to students. After losing his older brother to suicide, Portantino became passionate about the issue. In his Know Your Electeds interview, he says he wants to ensure that school personnel are well-equipped to tackle mental health with a "mental health first aid" program.

If Portantino could take an out-of-district visitor anywhere in the 25th district, it would be Old Town Pasadena. Why were Portantino's nails blue during his Know Your Elected interview? He lets his teenage daughter put nail polish on his pinky fingers as a way for them to bond.
