LOS ANGELES — Donald Trump came out victorious in the New Hampshire primary.
Having already secured a win at the Iowa Caucus, Trump is firmly in control of winning the Republican nomination, as no Republican candidate has ever lost a primary election after winning in both states.
Though Nikki Haley is sticking in the race, announcing to a crowd in New Hampshire that the race is far from over.
Peter Hamby, host of “Good Luck America” on Snapchat joined “Inside the Issues” host Amrit Singh to discuss the Republican race following Trump’s win in the Granite State.
“The fundamental problem that we saw in Iowa, that we saw in New Hampshire and that you can also just feel in the mood of the Republican voter is that Nikki Haley can’t peel away [sic] Republicans from Donald Trump,” Hamby said.
Hamby added New Hampshire allows for undeclared voters to take part in the New Hampshire primary and even then she still could not overtake Trump.
“To win the Republican nomination in a head-to-head race, you have to start putting wins on the board and it’s hard to see where else she can do that after a state like New Hampshire,” Hamby noted.
President Joe Biden secured the win in New Hampshire, following a successful write-in campaign, signaling a rematch of the 2020 General Election, which Hamby believes will favor Biden.
“There are people around Biden who predict he will be the first president to win reelection with an underwater approval rating,” Hamby said. “They see this fundamentally as a choice between Biden, who they admit is not popular, and Trump, who’s toxic, and continues to lose elections for Republicans.”
