LOS ANGELES — With the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters — amplified by human-caused climate change — research suggests older adults are more vulnerable and experience more casualties, compared to other age groups.
Older adults who have lost their entire neighborhoods, have not only long their homes, but their social networks.
If you’re interested in helping the senior community, the Wallis Annenberg GenSpace is looking for volunteers. You can email at info@annenberggenspace.org or call 424-407-4023 for more information.
GenSpace is also launching new monthly tech classes starting in March in partnership with AARP’s Senior Planet. These include classes like iPad Basics, Smartphone 101, Tech Tips for Disaster Preparedness and more.
