BEAUMONT, Calif. — According to the research and policy center Environment America, 19.5% of garbage Americans throw out is made up of durable goods, such as furniture and appliances.

A special store set up at the Lamb Canyon Landfill in Beaumont is hoping to give reuseable items a second life — while helping the community score deals.

The Found It Again Lamb Canyon Reuse Store is open the last Saturday of most months. But with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, the store will be open Saturday, Nov. 23. The store is expected to be closed in December and resume the last-Saturday-of-the-month schedule in January.
