LOS ANGELES — The California Watermelon Festival kicks off its 22nd year featuring all-you-can-eat watermelon for all attendees, as well as unique and adventurous, watermelon-inspired dishes.

This annual family-friendly event features something for everyone, including a kids zone with a petting zoo, live bands and DJs, a carnival section, arts and crafts, and everything watermelon from a costume contest to watermelon carving. 

It will take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hansen Dam Recreation Area Soccer Complex in Sylmar.
