MONROVIA, Calif. — Every year since 2018, the Evelyn Swierczynski Foundation, a nonprofit that supports patients and their caregivers at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, hosts a holiday book drive for the hospital’s Literally Healing program.
This year, the book drive’s organizers, who happen to be Evelyn’s parents, say their focus is on banned books because their daughter believed literature shouldn’t be censored.
Books will be collected through Monday. The foundation is also collecting monetary donations and hosting a blood drive at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena on Dec. 10. To learn more, visit here.
