LOS ANGELES — For the second year in a row, Aug. 5 has been recognized as Día del Bolero in Los Angeles.

The day recognizes the contributions of Bolero music and Boleros de Noche, a two-night event that started as a way to preserve and celebrate the romantic style of music that originated in Cuba in 1883.
