LOS ANGELES — When skateboarders do kickflips, grinds and other tricks, sometimes things go wrong and their boards break.

Many of the broken boards would end up being tossed in the trash. But Ben Paik, a woodworker and artist and owner of Woby Design in Los Angeles, has been creating things out of the broken boards including pens, hat holders, stools, furniture and more.  

Paik receives the broken decks from skateboard shops, including The Garage Board Shop in East Los Angeles.
