LOS ANGELES — A recent ruling from a federal court judge, which ordered the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to construct hundreds of temporary and permanent housing units on the sprawling, 388-acre VA campus in West Los Angeles to address veteran homelessness in LA, is meeting pushback.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has temporarily blocked the installation of more than 100 modular shelters on the campus by issuing an emergency stay. Veterans called the decision, which preceded Veterans Day, disappointing — but said the fight to secure housing for their fellow veterans living on the streets isn’t over.
