LOS ANGELES — High-end grocery chain Erewhon is suing the city of Los Angeles over a proposed housing development at the site of the historic Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel.

Erewhon is one of the main stores at the new shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge shopping center, which replaced the 1946-era Sportsmen’s Lodge event center.

Some longtime Studio City residents are excited for the upcoming housing, which includes 442 market-rate units and 78 affordable units.

Other residents are hoping the city steps in to preserve the hotel, or reduce the amount of housing that’s proposed in the plan, over traffic concerns.
