LOS ANGELES — In an alley across the street from the Los Angeles Colisuem, Ronald Ruson was sorting through bags and piles of moldy, wet clothing, items Ruson has accumulated in the past five years since being homeless.
According to the LA Homeless Services Authority, Ruson is one of more than 75,000 homeless people across the county.
With the winter months and storms rolling in, the city and county of LA have activated their augmented winter shelter program to house more people like Ronald. Last year, more than 5,000 people were housed because of the program.
