EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-San Antonio, is renewing his annual push to get more Latino films preserved in the Library of Congress' National Film Registry.
Castro has successfully nominated three films into the registry over the last two years, including "Selena," "The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez" and "Alambrista."
His 2024 list includes cult classics such as "Blood In Blood Out," "Pan's Labryinth" and "Y Tu Mamá También."
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the congress member joined "Your Afternoon" to make the case for these movies.
