EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — A group of Orange County health care workers are midway through their five-day strike Wednesday.
The workers are citing massive worker turnover and low pay.
West Anaheim Medical Center released a statement Monday, which reads in part:
"West Anaheim Medical Center continues to bargain in good faith with union leadership... A proposal has been delivered to the union from the hospital that would increase wages and provide a workable and affordable healthcare plan and comprehensive benefit programs among the best in the nation at little to no cost to employees. Despite this, the union has opted to engage in a strike, but that will not impact the hospital’s commitment to remaining open."
