During her teenage years, Courtney Toney was a frequent patient at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), battling for her life.

Her cancer diagnosis came when she was just 15.

During her 18 months of chemotherapy, Toney attended the hospital’s first CHOC Oncology Ball. It was a prom-like event for young patients who often miss out on life events, like school dances.

After beating cancer, Toney pursued a career in event planning as an adult.

Returning to CHOC as an event planner in 2019, she helped create joyful moments for patients and staff.

This isn’t just a job for her; it’s a chance to repay a place that was life-saving.
