On Monday, close to 2,400 mental health care providers with Kaiser Permanente went on strike in Southern California.

The National Union of Healthcare Workers is calling for more time to care for patients each week, better pay and the restoration of pensions.

Kaiser Permanente says they had met these demands during negotiations and offered workers a fair deal.
