LOS ANGELES — With winter conditions and flu season in full swing, respiratory infections are surging across the country.
In Los Angeles, as of late December, COVID positivity rates are up by more than 100% since early November and flu positivity rates are up more than 1000% in the same timeframe, according to the LA County Department of Public Health.
Experts are suggesting the public take extra precautions as infection rates remain high and the CDC says that COVID cases are likely to keep rising as the relatively new JN.1 variant becomes the increasingly dominant strain of the virus.
