SAN PEDRO, Calif. — Following the Nov. 11 fire that temporarily closed a section of the I-10 freeway in downtown Los Angeles, LA fire inspectors conducted a survey of other freeway underpasses in the city that could be at risk for similar incidents.
They found 23 that needed to be sent to the State Fire Marshal, who has fire jurisdiction for the California-owned land. The agency will also assess sites for health and safety code violations and issue violation notices accordingly.
It’s a safety issue the San Pedro Skatepark Association says it has been dealing with for years at the Channel Street Skatepark.
