Stress, isolation and viral activity during the pandemic have been agers for our cells, says wellness expert Kim Marshall.
In an interview on “Your Morning” on Spectrum News 1, the host of the Global Wellness Summit Podcast shared tips to slow down the aging process, including a focus on gut health.
Marshall said 70% of your immune system is located in your gut, according to her podcast guest Dr. Ken Pelletier from University of California San Francisco, which is why keeping it balanced is key.
“What you need to find are your individual gut’s needs,” said Marshall.
She recommended at-home microbiome tests like Viome and Goode Health to get personalized nutrition recommendations.
“Eat good probiotics. You could do that with sauerkraut, with Greek yogurt, with the ever-popular kombucha,” Marshall said.
