LOS ANGELES — Roughly 11% of California faces extreme drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, and 33% of the state is in severe drought because of the dry start to the wet season.

This comes as new irrigation technology from Southern California company, Rain Systems, is trying to help businesses and schools save up to 50% more water as the state faces a hotter, drier future.
