LOS ANGELES — Everyone deserves a second chance in life. In Prime Video’s new film “One Fast Move,” Wes Neal (played by K.J. Apa), a young man who has been kicked out of the military for motorcycle racing, tracks down his estranged father Dean Miller (Eric Dane), to coach him as he vies to become a racing champion.

In the film, Edward James Olmos plays Dean’s mentor and soon becomes Wes’ mentor, too. James Olmos tells Spectrum News that “One Fast Move” is a film about love, family and the communities we live in and what happens to us when we are dysfunctional … as we all are.

Olmos says that “One Fast Move” is set inside an environment and culture that is overwhelming. It is a story about motorcycle racing, but in a way that most people have not seen, he told Spectrum News.

“This is a story that will really resonate with everybody. I don’t care how old you are. You will find yourself understanding the difficulties and the wonderful results that can be done. It is a story of, for me, the pursuit of overcoming challenges. It is a very good movie, but it is very intense,” he said.

For Dane, “One Fast Move” is a wonderful father-son story in the world of super bike racing. He tells Spectrum News people will see how these two characters, Wes and Dean, heal each other in a way neither knew they needed.

Now days, Dane says he is proud to call K.J. a very dear friend, and describes Olmos as a master craftsman who is fun to hang out with and a lot of fun to watch.

“He’s a tremendous actor,” said Dane. “Every now and then you catch yourself going, ‘that’s Escalante.’ He’s had to so many iconic roles,” he said, referring to Olmos’ role in “Stand and Deliver.”
