LOS ANGELES — Amidst excitement for this year’s Grammy Awards, a new cohort of budding music professionals is stepping into the limelight through The Recording Academy’s Grammy U program. The program functions as a development hub, providing opportunities, events and mentorship.
During Grammy week, Grammy U members from across the country were given the opportunity to participate in a masterclass event with singers Halle Bailey and Muni Long.
For pop artist Kyle Forgues, networking opportunities like the Masterclass are invaluable. He’s also found value in Grammy U Mixtape, a monthly playlist spotlighting emerging artists where his track “This Life” earned a spot.
Another Grammy U member, Cristina Hron, said she uses her music to share her journey as a queer woman, finding a supportive audience through Grammy U.
Sam Kopec, a Grammy U representative, underscores the significance of exposure for these young professionals, as their work gets featured on Recording Academy channels for a full month.
Grammy U membership is available to eligibility to all people aged 18-29 actively pursuing a career in music. Details are available here.
