LOS ANGELES — This year’s Burning Man, an annual week-long event held in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, was compromised by unprecedented rains that turned the dry lake bed into mud that was not maneuverable.

Porta potties went unserviced, exits were closed for days and attendees were told to ration their food and water.

Burners helped each other through the difficulties and ended up making the best of a challenging, and wet, situation.
