LOS ANGELES — Based on the children’s books, Nickelodeon’s animated series “Bossy Bear” was created by David Horvath and his wife Sun-Min Kim, inspired by their lives living in both Seoul and Los Angeles.

Actor Chil Kong was brought on to the show as consulting producer to help bring cultural authenticity and specificity to the show, which is set in the fictional Koreatown-inspired city of Pleasantburg.

The show’s child characters are voiced by age and culture-appropriate performers, including Viva Lee, who said she has been inspired by the recent wave of strong Asian talent being embraced in the mainstream.
