LOS ANGELES — Initially delayed by the pandemic, "For the Love of a Glove", called a "very unauthorized" biography of Michael Jackson, premiered at the new Carl Sagan-Ann Druyan Theater.
Originally hired to write a straightforward biopic of Michael Jackson for TV, writer-director Julien Nitzberg conceived a fantastical musical fable to frame the tricky subject matter using puppets, science fiction elements and original songs by Drew Erickson, Nicole Morier and Max Townsley.
One of the show's producers is Anthony (Tony) Jones who worked with the Jackson 5 as part of Motown founder and producer Berry Gordy's team.
The show's premiere run has been extended into May.
