EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Not since the two played Superman's parents in Man Of Steel, actors Diane Lane and Kevin Costner reunite in Let Him Go.
Lane opens up on Hollywood Speaks about how she lured Costner to act with her again in the new drama.
5 Things You Need to Know:
- The Oscar-nominated actress found the script for "Let Him Go" specifically with Kevin Costner in mind as her co-star. The story revolves around a retired sheriff and his wife who, grieving the death of their adult son, set out to find their only grandson after his mother remarries and moves away.
- Lane made her screen debut in George Roy Hill's 1979 film A Little Romance. Since then, she has appeared in several notable films, including the 2002 thriller Unfaithful which earned her a best acting Oscar nominee. Lane has also starred in The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Knight Moves, Judge Dredd, A Walk on the Moon, The Perfect Storm, Under the Tuscan Sun, Inside Out, Trumbo, the sixth season of House of Cards, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.
- Lane shared on her desire to work with Costner ever since 2013. "Sometimes an actor, or maybe a musician or painter or writer you're motivated by different times in your life, and in this case I knew I wanted to work with Kevin Costner again, and he knew he wanted to work with me," she said. "In fact, that was our parting words when we worked together years back, and I was so happy I found the material and brought it to him, and he breathed life into it."
- The 55-year-old actress has been married twice and divorced twice — to Christopher Lambert from 1988 to 1994, and to Josh Brolin from 2004 to 2013.
- Lane is involved in several charities including Heifer International, which focuses on world hunger, and Artists for Peace and Justice, a Hollywood organization that supports Haiti relief. She tries not to draw attention to her humanitarian efforts, however.
